About the Composer
Victor L. Grundmann
I am an independent composer and music producer for licensable music of various genres, from EDM to experimental titles to the wide range of film music. Through my years of experience as a composer and producer, I have developed a sensitive ear for the subtle nuances of music and acoustics. I place a particular focus on the individuality and uniqueness of my productions, the greatest purpose of which is to convey special emotions to the listeners. I had my first contact with digital music production in 2015 within the DAW FL Studio (if one doesn't count Magix Music Maker 2013), where I discovered more and more how melodies, complex musical structures and ultimately entire titles can be created by setting individual MIDI notes. Through years of deepening my knowledge in the field of digital music production and my background as an instrumentalist, I can rely on over a decade of intensive musical experience.
About the music
As the infinite variety of musical directions, styles and nuances is my great passion, I particularly enjoy creating an individual and unique design for each of my productions. My music is characterized, among other things, by the combination of different genres in order to constantly reinvent myself. I invest all my intuition, all my knowledge and my experience in the composition of my instrumental music - with the aim of constantly exploring new facets of musical potential.
Training and knowledge
My experience covers all essential areas of digital music composition as well as its editing and audio editing. From the basics of music theory and notation to harmony, melody and the arrangement of modern compositions - to digital sound generation and processing, I have a broad repertoire of knowledge to realize my projects. During my studies, I was able to expand my specialist knowledge to a large extent and, among other things, gained detailed insights into analog sound engineering and the professional recording of acoustic and electric instruments. As part of this learning process, I particularly deepened my knowledge of the functions and parameters of all common effects devices for electroacoustic sound manipulation. Of course, the implementation and production of digital compositions was the main focus of most of my projects throughout my studies. In 2023, I successfully completed the British bachelor's degree *Music Technology Specialist*. The corresponding certificate was issued by the University of West London.
Musical background
The piano as my main instrument entered my life at the age of three, when I took my first piano lessons at the Mannheim Music School in 2004. Back then, I was taught the basics of playing the piano and reading music in a playful way. Part of this training included training my ear, which has been a significant help to me in my field to this day thanks to its early teaching. Since my early childhood and youth, I have been involved in musical projects in the context of my school career, taking on various positions, including the piano, electric bass and the percussion section, which allowed me to explore all the important basic building blocks of the essence of music in greater depth (melodies, harmony and rhythm). All of these different experiences opened the door to a more complex understanding of the different aspects and subtleties of music, both technically and intuitively. I first came into contact with digital music production in 2015, when I created my earliest electronic compositions using the DAW (Digital Audio Workstation) FL Studio. Since then, I have been able to steadily expand my experience in this area and have also learned how to use many other DAWs such as Ableton Live, Logic Pro, Cubase and ProTools.
